Frequently Asked Questions

How does it work?

We've partnered with leading pan-African banks, underwriters, credit guarantee agencies, and international off-takers to unlock financing for our smallholder farmers aggregate and our commercial farms portfolio.

What's the typical investment maturity timeline?

Investment maturity corresponds with each crop's growth end or harvest cycle. For example, Rice crops take approximately 3-4 months to mature. Thus, the investment maturity of our rice crop will be 4 months plus an additional five weeks for our partner bank to make the cash ROI available for Harvest/withdrawal.

What's the guarantee that the diaspora investment is secured with Sahara Farms?

1. The diaspora's investments are held in a pooled account as cash collateral under Collateral Protection Insurance (CPI) in the country where they are collected. This means our diaspora does not incur the risk of seeing their cash investment wired overseas.

2. All diaspora investments are 99% capital and fixed ROI guaranteed through our investment institutional insurance partners.

How come Sahara Farms is able to offer such high returns on investments?

We have secured a number of advantages including tax, seamless and full repatriation financial gains, minimum FX proceedings, plus tech-driven decentralised cross-border management system in African countries where our commercial farms are located and through strategic partnerships.
